
Tuesday night, a 26-year-old city resident was tragically shot on the doorstep of his southwest residence.
The Stark County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that Nathaniel Laster was declared dead in the emergency room at Aultman Hospital at 12:18 a.m. on Wednesday.
According to Massillon Lt. Nick Antonides, police responded to a home in the 500 block of Fifth Street SW after receiving a call reporting shooting about 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
In order to save the man’s life until paramedics arrived, officers discovered him on the front porch bleeding from the chest. Emergency responders in Massillon took the man to Aultman Hospital.
Police are still looking, according to Antonides. According to him, other witnesses claimed to have heard six to eight gunshots. Laster suffered one upper body gunshot wound, according to Antonides, who is still waiting to hear more about other wounds from the coroner.
