Florida Motorcycle Accident Bonita Springs: Two Naples residents dead after Thursday night crash on US-41 and Bernwood Parkway.

The official crash summary, which reveals details of the collision that claimed the lives of two residents of Naples on US-41 and Bernwood Parkway, has been made public by the Florida Highway Patrol.

On Thursday night, November 16, 2023, at approximately 8:25 PM, a serious collision involving four cars occurred at Bernwood Parkway and US-41.

According to reports, a white sedan was traveling south on US-41 when it was rear-ended by an unidentified sports car, causing the vehicle to cross the median and enter the northbound lanes.
After then, the sedan made a direct cut in front of the motorcycle, resulting in a head-on collision. The two motorcycle riders were hurled onto the road.

The sedan then carried on, hitting a minivan carrying two kids before coming to rest behind a roadside street sign. Amazingly, the driver only suffered minor wounds.

The 3-year-old child, a 7-year-old girl, and a 10-year-old boy were all inside the minivan, which only had minor damage and no injuries were recorded.

The motorcyclists, a 61-year-old man from Naples who was riding the motorcycle and a 59-year-old lady who was a passenger, were not wearing helmets at the time of the incident. Both of them died instantly upon impact with the ejection.

Nine people in all were involved in this collision, the most of them only had minor injuries. The workers on the site classified this as a Level 1 Mass Casualty Incident.

According to the FHP, charges are still pending and the crash is still being investigated. Who is to blame for the crash is unclear.
